Our Website Got a Facelift
Innovation never ends. As one new product takes center stage, others fade into the background. At Eagle Leather, we’ve been re-doing our website. The most important change lets you use it easily on any device, from desktop computers, to laptops or tablets, to Internet-connected phones, regardless of the size of your device. No more pinching to enlarge that tiny print!
When we did that, we also improved a few more things. Let’s take a short tour. Start at the Home page and look beneath the cool slideshow. Scrolling down you’ll see a row each of New Arrivals, Best Sellers, and Sale items. If you click on New Arrivals, for instance, you’ll see a screenful of search results. (You can do the same thing with the other two options, and you can click on any of the dots beneath the pictures to go directly to a new page of items.)
Between the title and the products is a bar. On the left side of the bar, you’ll see numbers, which you can click on to move on to more pages. Toward the right side, you’ll see a small array of nine dots and another of three dots and three lines. If you click on the nine dots, the search results are presented in an array; if you click on the three dots and three lines, the results are presented in list format. On the far right of the bar is a drop-down menu on which you can choose to display your search results in two ways: either alphabetically beginning with the first word in the product description or by price. Both options can be displayed in ascending order, from a to z or lowest to highest price, or in descending order, from z to a or highest to lowest price.
Just under the bar we list the number of products in that category and (as variations) the number of items in different sizes. That’s probably more than you want to thumb through. On the left side of the page you’ll see a number of options by which you can filter your search results: size, brand, and price. Just select the options you want to see.
When you see something you like, you can add it to your cart right away. You’ll see a popup on the bottom right of the screen that confirms the item is in your cart. When you want to learn more about the item, you have two choices. You can click on the picture of the item (Quick View) to see how many are in stock, to add it to your wish list by clicking on the heart icon or to your registry by clicking on the gift package icon, to select the number of items you want to buy, to add it to your cart, or to see additional details. Or, you can click on the name of the product, which takes you directly to the details page. There you’ll find all that and more information about the item under these tabs: Description, Sizing, Shipping, Reviews, and Warranty. Hover over the picture to see it magnified. Icons let you share this information on your social media. And, you can check whether it’s in stock at Auburn or Lakeview.
Below the item you’ll see several items that are on sale, and below that, you’ll see the items you’ve looked at recently. This feature can make it easier to compare items when you’re deciding what to buy.
One more handy-dandy detail: On the bottom of the Home page, where we show the addresses and phone numbers of the Lakewood and Auburn stores, you can click and see maps showing those locations.
But the big thing is—all this is now easily available on any sized platform. Happy online shopping!
